"Borders and Boundaries"

Basic Electronic Records

Offered by the Society of American Archivists, this workshop will be taught by Geoffrey A. Huth, Acting Director of Government Records Services at the New York State Archives. The workshop will provide you with the basics of the principles of appraising, accessioning, preserving and providing access to records in digital formats. You will identify goals and objectives for addressing electronic records within your own institution's mission, discuss and examine various technical and organizational issues, and develop a tentative plan for action within your organization. The workshop will be held at the University of Texas at El Paso Library.

Toby Murray, a past president of SSA and internationally acclaimed Disaster Queen, will conduct a half-day workshop on how to write a disaster plan. Participants will fill-in-the-blanks and gain tips and insights into preparing a disaster plan for their own institutions.



Space is limited, and workshop is subject to cancellation pending enough registrants. Registration must be postmarked by April 17.
